After working side-by-side with some of the world's greatest DJs as lighting designer for LA's Factory nightclub, Jack Jones has stepped away from the lighting board and over to the turntables as one of the West Coast's hottest up-and-coming DJ talents.
Inspired by such notable circuit DJs as Manny Lehman, Abel and Phil B. and working closely under the tutelage of Factory resident DJ Kimberly S, Jones' talent for creating a memorable and exciting musical experience is quickly emerging and taking the dancefloor by storm.
His upbeat, energetic style of playing "for the crowd" with an infectious blend of throbbing, yet melodic, house sounds; uplifting vocal tunes and invigoratingly sophisticated tribal beats is rapidly winning Jones a core group of die-hard fans. But that was only the beginning as he managed to secure a residency at the nationally recognized hot spot in West Hollywood, The Abbey along with monthly appearances at Swig Nightclub (Santa Fe, New Mexico), bi-annual showings at Fresh at Ruby Skye (San Francisco, CA), and he has graced the decks at The Red Chair (Atlanta, Georgia), Jungle (Atlanta, Georgia), Memorial Day Pensacola Beach (Pensacola, Florida), Valley of the Dolls (Dallas, Texas), Thanksgiving Kick off at Club One (Dallas, Texas), Club Evolution (Denver, Colorado), The Cuff Complex (Seattle, Washington), The Boom (Phoenix, Arizona), Heaven Nightclub (Palm Springs, CA), Montage (San Diego, CA), The Flame (San Diego, CA), Memorial Day Boat Cruise - San Diego Bay, Numbers Nightclub (San Diego, CA), Mardi Gras Festival (San Diego, CA), Tribe Main Event - Cruise Ship Dome (Long Beach, CA), The Wyndam Pool Party & The Closing Party WPPS 2005 (Palm Springs, CA), and many other Los Angeles area venues, including The Factory, Reflex After-hours, Buddah Lounge at Ultra Suede, Tom Whitman's Player at Here Lounge, Anthem at MJ's Bar, Forbidden Play at Forbidden City, and Vision at the world famous Avalon (Hollywood, CA).
But this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has had the privilege of spending an evening under Jones' musical spell. His experience in providing the lighting for nearly all of the Factory's resident and guest DJs has given Jones a keen sense for translating sound into a visual presentation -- as well as a strong understanding for what truly moves a dancefloor.
This ability to connect with the crowd, combined with a steadfast love of dance music and nearly a decade of experience as a cellist with one Olympia, Washington's symphony orchestras, truly sets Jones apart from the rest. His unique experience has set the stage for a bright and shining DJ career. Jones has his sights (and ears) set on becoming one of the country's top club and circuit DJs. Meanwhile, down on the dancefloor, the buzz is growing and the crowds are building...knowing the best is yet to come.
